She has an MFA in fiction from Columbia University, which she mostly uses to concoct plots, and is the recipient of a 2022 Prose Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
She’s the author of five novels for young adults, including MY FLAWLESS LIFE, which was a finalist for the Edgar Award for Best Young Adult, and was chosen by the Junior Library Guild as a Gold Standard Selection.
She grew up in Worcester, MA, in an old stone colonial flanked by woods, where she spent a lot of time wandering around outside, thinking up stories to keep herself occupied. She thinks of her best ideas in February, and loves winter, dim sum, gothic tales, and romantic comedies.
She lives in Decatur, GA, with one husband, two children and two cats.
